Bayer Leverkusen edge Real Sociedad

Bayer Leverkusen have beaten Real Sociedad 1-0 in the Champions League this evening.

Omer Toprak's goal just after the restart was enough for the visitors in what was a game full of chances.

Gonzalo Castro came closest in the first half with a 25-yard free kick, but it struck the woodwork with Sociedad keeper Enaut Zubikarai beaten.

Stefan Kiessling was denied with two headers, his first was well saved by Zubikarai, before his second hit the crossbar.

Antoinne Griezmann went close after dipping inside on his left, but his long-range effort was well saved by Bernd Leno in the Leverkusen goal.

Toprak grabbed the winner four minutes after the break when he bundled home from six yards out.
