Luis Suarez is demanding a £22m severance fee from Barcelona before he completes his proposed move to Juventus, according to a report.

Luis Suarez's proposed move to Juventus from Barcelona is reportedly being held up by the striker's £22m severance demand after being told he is not in new manager Ronald Koeman's plans.

Suarez looks all but set to depart Camp Nou as part of a summer clearout by Koeman, with reports suggesting that Juve have already agreed personal terms with the former Liverpool man.

The Serie A champions are said to be hopeful of striking a deal for Suarez for a mere £4.4m, but Suarez reportedly has hatchets to bury with Barcelona before he will complete his move to Turin.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Suarez is refusing to budge on his request for £22m in severance pay, with his contract at Camp Nou set to expire next summer.

However, the report claims that Barca are confident that the 33-year-old will lower his demands following Juve's strong interest in him, and the excellent relationship between the two clubs means that a deal should eventually go through with minimal hesitation.

Since his arrival in Catalonia in 2014, Suarez has gone on to register 198 goals in 283 games for Barcelona across all competitions.
