Romano: 'There is no agreement for Griezmann, Saul swap'

Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are yet to reach an agreement over a proposed swap deal for Saul Niguez and Antoine Griezmann, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Barcelona are seemingly keen to shift Griezmann's wages this summer due to their financial problems, while Saul continues to be linked with a move away from Wanda Metropolitano.

A recent report claimed that the two clubs were in advanced discussions over a swap for the two players, which would also involve Barcelona receiving some money alongside Saul.

However, according to Romano, the La Liga giants are yet to find an agreement, and a number of Premier League clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation regarding Saul.

Griezmann previously turned out for Atletico between 2014 and 2019, scoring 133 goals and registering 50 assists in 257 appearances for the capital giants.

The France international has largely found it difficult to show his best form for Barcelona, though, and the Catalan giants are under pressure to trim their budget this summer due to their financial issues.
