Report: Barcelona keen on Kalidou Koulibaly

Barcelona are reportedly considering a move for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.

Chelsea were strongly linked with the 26-year-old during the summer, but Napoli managed to fend off the interest in a player that is contracted to his Italian club until the summer of 2021.

Barcelona's Javier Mascherano recently revealed that his time at Camp Nou was coming to an end, which is expected to force the Catalan giants into the transfer market for a new centre-back.

According to II Mattino, Koulibaly, who has made 20 appearances for Napoli during the 2017-18 campaign, is Barca's leading target in that area of the field.

The La Liga leaders have been hit with the news that key defender Samuel Umtiti will miss the next two months of the season after picking up a hamstring injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Celta Vigo.
