Report: Barcelona interested in Robin van Persie

Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Fenerbahce striker Robin van Persie during January's transfer window.

Barcelona have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Robin van Persie from Fenerbahce during January's transfer window.

The Netherlands international joined the Turkish club from Manchester United in the summer, scoring five goals in 17 appearances so far this season.

Spanish outlet Fichajes reports that the 32-year-old has not settled with his new club though, adding that the Spanish and European champions see Van Persie as potential cover for Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Van Persie joined Manchester United in 2012 after eight years with Arsenal.
