Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo admits that Barcelona have made contact regarding the potential signing of Neymar.

Sporting director Leonardo has suggested that Paris Saint-Germain will consider offers for Neymar this summer.

After a two-year spell at Parc des Princes, the Brazilian is allegedly keen to leave PSG ahead of the new campaign, alerting Barcelona to the possibility of a reunion with the forward.

PSG announced on Monday that they would punish Neymar for failing to turn up to pre-season training, a statement which was followed by Leonardo acknowledging that the 27-year-old could return to Camp Nou.

After being quizzed over whether Neymar wishes to depart the club, Leonardo told Le Parisien: "It's clear to everyone, but in football, you say one thing today and tomorrow another. It's amazing but it's like that."

"The position is clear for all. But one thing is concrete today: he still has three years of contract with us. And since we have not received an offer, we can not discuss anything."

"We have not received any offers, but we had, it's true, very superficial contacts [from Barcelona]. They said they wanted to buy but we were not sellers. Neymar can leave PSG if there is an offer that suits everyone. But to date, we do not know if anyone wants to buy it or at what price."

Barcelona are reportedly looking at ways to raise the funds required to sign Neymar, who represented the Catalan giants between 2013 and 2017.
