Barcelona's Gerard Pique: "There is no place like home"

Pique happy at Barcelona

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has revealed that he left Manchester United because he wanted to be at home.

The Spain international centre-back joined the Red Devils in 2004 and departed in the summer of 2008 for his former team Barca.

"We have started, yes," he told Mundo Deportivo when asked whether he was in discussions to sign a new contract with Barca.

"Everything is very well with the club. Everyone knows that I am a Barcelonista. I tried having an adventure abroad with Manchester, and I can say that there is no place like home.

"I spent four years away, but here I have family and close friends every day."

Pique has won La Liga four times and the Champions League twice since his move back to Barca.
