Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes the club are unlikely to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in this summer's transfer window.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes the club are unlikely to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski in this summer's transfer window.

The 33-year-old's agent revealed earlier this week that his client has expressed his desire to join the Catalan giants and "fulfil a lifetime dream" in moving to Camp Nou.

Lewandowski will soon be entering the final year of his contract at the Allianz Arena but the veteran striker has no intentions of renewing his current deal, meaning Bayern could lose the Poland international for free in the summer of 2023.

One report had suggested that Barca have tabled a €32m (£27m) bid for Lewandowski, while another claims that Bayern will not listen to offers below their €50m (£43m) valuation of the striker.

Despite registering their interest in signing Lewandowski this summer, Laporta expects the striker to remain in Bavaria while he still has a year remaining on his contract.

"He has a year left on his Bayern Munich contract and that is the situation," Laporta told reporters via Marca.

"I can't say more than that. We will let everyone get on with their work. He is a top-quality player, one that we like a lot as well, but he has a contract."

Lewandowski, who has been with Bayern for the last eight seasons, has recorded 344 goals and 72 assists in 374 appearances for the club across all competitions.
