La Liga 'reject Barca attempts to register signings'

Barcelona's attempts to register their summer signings have reportedly been rejected by La Liga.

The Catalan giants began their summer business with the signings of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie, but they have since added Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski and Jules Kounde to their squad this summer.

However, according to The Mirror, their attempts to register their new signings as well as new contracts for Ousmane Dembele and Sergi Roberto were rejected by La Liga on Friday.

Barcelona have raised €767m this summer from selling a quarter of their TV rights and 25% of their stake in Barca Studios.

Although they are set to sell a further 24.5% of Barca Studios, they will need to sell players to be able to register their summer signings.

Frenkie de Jong has been linked with a move to Manchester United throughout the summer, and as the club's highest earner, Barcelona may need to sell the Dutchman to free up space on their wage bill.

The likes of Memphis Depay, Martin Braithwaite and Samuel Umtiti could also head out the exit door in the current transfer window.
