Gerard Deulofeu extends Barcelona contract

Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu has extended his current contract with the club until the summer of 2017.

The 19-year-old's original deal with the newly-crowned Spanish champions' youth team was due to run out in June 2014.

"Gerard Deulofeu will continue to be a FC Barcelona player through 2017," reads a statement from the club.

"The club and the player have agreed to terms to extend the contract linking the two parties through June 30, 2017.

"The player's buy-out clause is set at €35m (£30m). The player will sign his new contract on Wednesday at 18.00 (CET)."

Deulofeu has played twice in La Liga for Barcelona so far.
