Barcelona players 'feel undervalued by Messi'

Several members of Barcelona's first-team squad allegedly feel 'undervalued' by Lionel Messi.

The club legend pushed for an exit from Camp Nou during the summer transfer window before accepting that no clubs would pay his release clause.

Despite remaining at the Catalan giants, the 33-year-old has failed to inspire his team, who sit in ninth position in La Liga and only finished second to Juventus in their Champions League group.

At a time when Messi will soon be allowed to speak to foreign clubs regarding a 2021 transfer, reports in Spain suggest that some of his teammates are unhappy.

The report claims that there are players in the senior setup who feel 'undervalued' by comments and actions of the club's star man.

Messi has contributed seven goals and two assists from 14 appearances this season, a significantly lower ratio than in previous campaigns.
