Barcelona deny interest in goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon?

Barcelona have reportedly not made any contact with goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon regarding a potential transfer this summer.

Paris Saint-Germain will not activate their option to keep Buffon at Parc des Princes for another 12 months, which leaves the legendary stopper as a free agent.

The Italian - now 41 years of age - will not be short of admirers, and it has been claimed that Barcelona may look to sign the veteran as backup to Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Reports in Spain suggest differently, however, as sources close to the Catalan giants indicate that there is currently no prospect of any short-term contract.

Buffon is allegedly open to a return to Parma, having started his professional career at the Serie A outfit.
