Gremio midfielder Arthur is confident that he will become a Barcelona player, but a move is unlikely to go through until next January.

Brazilian midfielder Arthur has confirmed that his proposed switch from Gremio to Barcelona is still on course to go through in the next year.

The Catalan giants have been made to wait for the 21-year-old until the end of the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A season, meaning that a transfer is unlikely to go through until next January.

Arthur is confident that he will end up at Camp Nou one way or another, though, having reportedly turned down interest from a number of other European clubs and given his word to Barca.

"My move to the club is well on track, but nothing has yet been signed," Spanish outlet Diario Sport quotes him as saying.

Arthur, yet to be capped at senior level by Brazil, is understood to have a £44m release clause written into his contract.
