Barcelona win opening friendly against Hamburg

Barcelona have claimed victory in their opening match of pre-season, running out 2-1 winners against a spirited Hamburg in Germany.

The Catalan giants wasted no time in making the perfect start, Brazilian full-back Dani Alves smashing home from the edge of the penalty area after just four minutes.

Hamburg responded well, the home side equalising when Tolgay Arslan converted from close range.

Barcelona completed the scoring before half-time, Gerard Deulofeu finishing a simple chance to give new manager Tito Vilanova an early pre-season boost.
