How Barcelona could line up against Getafe

How Barcelona could line up against Getafe

Barcelona are hopeful that both Ronald Araujo and Andreas Christensen will be available for Sunday's La Liga contest with Getafe.

Araujo pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring issue during the 4-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Joan Gamper Trophy final last time out.

However, Barcelona head coach Xavi said after the match that the substitution was precautionary, so the Uruguay international should feature here, while Christensen is also expected to overcome a knock in time for the team's first match of the 2023-24 campaign.

New signing Inigo Martinez is struggling with a foot issue, though, and he is unlikely to feature.

There will also be no Ousmane Dembele for the Catalan giants, as the France international is closing in on a switch to Paris Saint-Germain.

Ilkay Gundogan is set to make his debut for Barcelona after arriving on a free transfer this summer, and he is likely to be joined in midfield by Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

Gavi is set to be pushed into the front three alongside Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski, with the likes of Ansu Fati, Abde Ezzalzouli and Ferran Torres in reserve.

Lamine Yamal, 16, is also expected to be among the substitutes for Barcelona in this contest.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Kounde, Araujo, Christensen, Balde; Pedri, De Jong, Gundogan; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Gavi
