How Barcelona could line up against New York Red Bulls

How Barcelona could line up against New York Red Bulls

Barcelona are expected to have both Ronald Araujo and Pedri back in their starting side for Saturday's pre-season contest with MLS outfit New York Red Bulls.

Araujo and Pedri were rested for the 2-2 draw with Juventus last time out, but the pair should return here, with head coach Xavi likely to shuffle his pack for the contest in New Jersey.

Gavi, Raphinha and Ansu Fati could potentially join Araujo and Pedri in the starting side, while there is likely to be a spot at right-back for United States international Sergino Dest.

Sergi Roberto started against Juventus last time out, but the Spaniard only played the opening 32 minutes after struggling to overcome a knock, so he is a doubt for this contest.

Robert Lewandowski is yet to get off the mark for his new club but should again lead the attack, with the Poland international potentially being joined by Raphinha and Fati.

Ousmane Dembele could drop down to the bench despite scoring twice against Juventus, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who played off the left last time out, is also likely to drop out of the XI.

Sergio Busquets could play alongside Gavi and Pedri in midfield, with Franck Kessie and Nico Gonzalez likely to drop down to the bench, but Andreas Christensen and Jordi Alba could keep their spots in the back four.

Barcelona possible starting lineup: Ter Stegen; Dest, Christensen, Araujo, Alba; Gavi, Busquets, Pedri; Raphinha, Lewandowski, Fati
