Barcelona's Cristian Tello ready for competition

Barcelona winger Cristian Tello has insisted that he is ready to battle for a spot in the first team next season.

The 21-year-old, who scored in Saturday's 7-0 win over Valerenga, registered seven goals in 22 league appearances last season.

"I'm aware that there will be a lot of competition, but I'm confident in my possibilities," he told the club's official website.

"It motivates me. I asked to keep the number 37 but I wasn't allowed to keep it because it's a reserve-side number. I'm hoping the number 20 brings me luck."

Tello joined Barcelona B from Espanyol B in 2010.
