Marc Muniesa suffers injury blow

Barcelona defender Marc Muniesa has been ruled out of action for up to six months with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

The 20-year-old was taken off during Barca's recent 2-1 friendly win over Hamburg in Germany.

The Catalan club will decide later this week whether the centre-back requires surgery on his right knee.

Muniesa was kept out of action for 10 months as a 16-year-old with a similar problem in his left knee.
