Jeremy Mathieu delighted by Barcelona move

Jeremy Mathieu has described Barcelona as the "best club in the world" following his move from Valencia.

The 30-year-old French defender arrived at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, signing a four-year deal for nearly £16m.

Mathieu will be officially presented as a Barcelona player on Thursday.

"The club know how I play and I'm just coming to do my very best," he told Barca's official website. "Barca is the best club in the world, and coming here is a great opportunity for me."

Mathieu leaves Valencia after spending the past four years at the Mestalla Stadium.
