Luis Suarez bemoans dropped points

Barcelona striker Luis Suarez claims that his team deserved to beat Valencia in Saturday's La Liga clash, which ultimately finished level at the Mestalla.

Luis Suarez has said that Barcelona dropped two points in Saturday's La Liga clash at Valencia, rather than seeing it as a point gained.

Suarez opened the scoring just before the hour at the Mestalla, but a late Santi Mina strike secured Valencia a share of the spoils.

The Uruguay international has claimed that his team "played well enough" to deserve the win, but he has also paid tribute to the quality of Valencia, who had new coach Gary Neville in the stands.

"The game leaves a bitter taste because we had the game in our hands, created some very good chances but dropped two points. Still, we played well enough and now we must continue working hard to win games," Suarez told reporters.

"Valencia are one of the best teams in the league and have a mix of good players and youngsters who work hard."

Barcelona are now just two points clear of second-place Atletico Madrid at the top of the La Liga table.
