Barcelona's Ibrahim Afellay has been ruled out for six months with a knee injury.
The midfielder tore the anterior cruciate ligaments in his left knee during a training session on Thursday.
The 25-year-old Dutchman had only just returned to the Barca set-up following a hamstring problem in pre-season.
Pep Guardiola's side are currently in fourth place in La Liga after Wednesday's 2-2 draw at Valencia.
