Good evening and welcome to Sports Mole's live commentary of tonight's La Liga encounter between Sevilla and Barcelona at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuan.
Sevilla have secured 11 points from five league games this season to occupy fifth spot in the table, while they have conceded just two goals thus far – the joint-best defensive record in the league.
The Catalans, meanwhile, have won all five of their matches this season to move to the top of La Liga. If they can secure all three points this evening, then they will equal their best ever start to a league campaign.
Barcelona secured the three points in the corresponding fixture last season when goals from Xavi and Lionel Messi secured a 2-0 win for the then champions of Spain.
10.53pmSo there we have it. Thanks for joining Sports Mole for the action and look out for our match analysis that will follow shortly. Good night!
10.51pmSo there we have it. Two goals in the final four minutes makes it six league wins in six for Barcelona. Sevilla will feel aggrieved following a host of decisions that went against them, but they end the night with nothing.
45 minMeanwhile, we will play an additional one minute at the end of the half.
43 minBarcelona have just started to control possession in the past few minutes, but they are struggling for any real invention at the moment. Can they force an equaliser before the break?
40 minIt's all Sevilla in the latter stages of the half with Negredo and Navas combining in the Barcelona half. Manu comes close with an effort of his own, but he fires over the crossbar.
37 minChance! Another opportunity for the home side as Negredo strikes from outside the box, but he fires over. Meanwhile, Manu replaces Trochowski for the home side.
35 minSevilla again threaten as Maduro finds the run of Negredo down the right, but the offside flag is raised. Barcelona really are struggling in defence at the moment.
33 minDecent spell of possession for Sevilla as they stroke the ball around in midfield. Meanwhile, they suddenly look capable of passing their way through the Barcelona defence. Song and Mascherano are not a watertight central pair that is for certain.
31 minSuddenly itss all Sevilla as Maduro finds Navas on the right, but he is just crowded out by Alba. There really is some lovely football on display this evening. La Liga is Europe's most technical league that is for certain.
29 minChance! So nearly 1-1 as Messi strikes an effort from close range, but Maduro makes the block. What a wonderful piece of defending that was.
27 minWow. It was poor defending from Barcelona. He just had so much room. There's the lead to defend. Now it is over to Barcelona to come up with a response. Real Madrid couldn't.
26 min What was I saying about the game against Madrid? Sevilla lead as Trochowski fires an effort past Valdes from close range.
25 minBarcelona come close as they force a free kick in a wide position, but Messi's cross is headed clear by Botia. The home side are playing an identical game to the one they played against Real Madrid a couple of weeks ago.
23 minSighter for Sevilla as Negredo wins the aerial battle with Song, but it just would not fall for Navas. Make no mistake about it, they are a threat when they get the speedy winger running.
21 minSevilla cannot get out at the moment as Barcelona continue to pass and probe on the edge of the home side's penalty area. In truth, their only threat is on the counter with the pace of Navas. They are just holding on for the time being.
19 minThe Barcelona players are not happy here as Botia pushes Messi to the ground outside the penalty area, but no decision is forthcoming. It looked stonewall for me. Meanwhile, Rakitic tests the palms of Valdes down the other end.
17 minThe pressing from Barcelona is just wonderful. Spahic picks up possession just outside his own box and immediately Sanchez is on top of him. They just have not got a second to pick a pass. It's impressive from the Catalans.
15 minNothing much from Sevilla as an attacking threat at the moment with Fabregas enjoying plenty of possession. It looks to be just a matter of time. But do not rule out Sevilla on the counter.
13 minChance! So nearly the opener for Barcelona as Xavi and Messi combine inside the box, the Argentine strikes an effort towards goal, but Palop pushes the danger wide. That's the best chance of the match thus far.
11 minSevilla are just struggling to keep possession at the moment with Xavi and Messi combining inside the home side's half. Although they are a threat on the counter with the pace of Navas and the availability of Negredo.
9 minIt?s all Barcelona at the moment as Xavi attempts to find the run of Sanchez in the box, but Palop advances to punch the danger clear. Meanwhile, a mistake from the goalkeeper almost lets Messi in, but the striker cannot collect.
7 minHalf-chance for Barcelona as Messi finds Fabregas on the left, the Spaniard finds a low cross into the box, but Palop gathers possession. It?s all one-way traffic at the moment.
5 minFirst real involvement for Lionel Messi as he picks up possession inside the Sevilla half, but Campana fells the Argentine striker. The Catalans are just starting to dictate the tempo of the match.
3 minHalf-chance for Barcelona as Pedro picks up possession outside the box, but he fires his effort over the crossbar. Meanwhile, Sevilla are enjoying an extended period of possession.
2 minDecent pressure from Sevilla as Navas chases down a loose pass, but he fells Mascherano in the process. The Argentine plays at the back alongside Alex Song this evening.
1 minHere we go then. Barcelona get us underway on this warm evening in Spain. Let's hope the football matches the weather.
8.59pmSevilla versus Barcelona. Michel versus Tito Vilanova. Let's get this show on the road.
8.57pmHere we go then. Both sets of players are just about to join us on the pitch. Can Sevilla secure another important result? Or will it be Barcelona who make it six wins from six?
8.52pmI briefly mentioned it earlier, but El Clasico is indeed next weekend. Make sure you join us for that one. It is sure to be a cracker.
8.50pmA couple of full times to bring you from earlier today: Valencia 2-0 Real Zaragoza. Malaga 4-0 Real Betis. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad currently lead Athletic Bilbao 2-0.
8.48pmRight, we are just about 10 minutes away from kickoff. Prediction time for me. I am going for a 3-1 win for Barcelona. But I have a feeling that Sevilla will score first.
8.46pmBarcelona will be looking to extend their lead at the top of La Liga ahead of El Clasico next weekend. But Sevilla could move as high as second with a big win this evening.
8.44pmSevilla secured their first away win of the season against Deportivo La Corona on Monday and have been branded as an outside bet for the title this season. I have to say that is a bit farfetched, for me it's only going to be Barcelona or Real Madrid. But teams can dream.
8.42pmLos Rojiblancos also recorded a 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp last season and are one of the few sides in world football that are so familiar with Barcelona's style of football. Meanwhile, with the pace of Jesus Navas, they know what they have to do to exploit the away side's weaknesses.
8.40pmSevilla have won their last three home league matches with an aggregate score of 8-3. Meanwhile, they recorded a 1-0 win over Real Madrid earlier in the campaign and will therefore enter the tie full of confidence.
8.38pmSo there we have it. Piotr Trochowski starts in attack alongside Negredo for the home side. Meanwhile, David Villa must once more settle for a spot on the Barcelona bench.
8.34pmTEAM NEWS: Alex Song and Pedro both start for Barcelona. Meanwhile, Jesus Navas starts in attack for Sevilla. Full teams to follow.
8.32pmHello all! Well what an evening of La Liga football we have to bring you as two of the in-form sides in Spain clash in Sevilla. Goals are expected, so sit back and watch the action unfold with us.
