Sergio Aguero could retire from professional football after recently discovering that he has a heart problem, according to a report.

Sergio Aguero is reportedly considering retiring from professional football after recently discovering that he has a heart problem.

The 33-year-old, who only arrived at Camp Nou last summer, was forced off the field against Alaves at the end of October after suffering with chest pains.

Earlier this month, Barcelona announced that Aguero would spend the next three months on the sidelines before making a decision on a possible return to the field.

However, according to Catalunya Radio, the nature of the heart problem is more complicated than first thought.

The report claims that 'the medical resonances and stress tests that he has undergone in recent days are detailing that the heart problem is more serious than it was initially valued'.

As a result, Aguero could be forced into an early retirement, with the attacker not prepared to take any chances when it comes to his long-term health.

The Argentina international has scored once in five appearances for Barcelona since his arrival, missing the start of the 2021-22 campaign due to a calf problem.
