Barcelona injury, suspension news vs. Rayo Vallecano: Will Fermin Lopez, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen be available?

Fermin, Araujo, Christensen updates: Barcelona injury, suspension news vs. Rayo

Barcelona will attempt to record a fourth straight victory in La Liga when they host Rayo Vallecano on Monday night.

The Catalan outfit have beaten Valencia, Alaves and Sevilla in their last three league matches, and a total of 48 points from 23 games has left them third in the La Liga table, now just two points behind division leaders Real Madrid.

Hansi Flick's side were 4-1 winners over Sevilla last time out, and they have found the back of the net on 24 occasions in their last six matches in all competitions. Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Rayo, who are enjoying an excellent campaign, currently sitting up in sixth spot in the table.

Ronald Araujo

Status: Out Type of injury: Ankle Possible return date: February 22 (vs. Las Palmas)

Araujo will be absent for Barcelona on Monday due to the ankle injury that he picked up against Sevilla last time out, but it is not a long-term problem, and the centre-back could return next weekend.

Andreas Christensen

Status: Out Type of injury: Calf Possible return date: February 22 (vs. Las Palmas)

Christensen, who has only played once this season due to an Achilles problem, is currently on the sidelines with a calf issue, and he will again be unavailable for selection on Monday night.

Marc Bernal

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Bernal suffered an ACL injury against Rayo Vallecano in the league earlier this term, and he is out for the season, with the youngster working to be ready for pre-season ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen

Status: Out Type of injury: Knee Possible return date: Unknown

Barcelona will be missing their number one goalkeeper Ter Stegen for the remainder of the season due to the serious knee injury that he suffered in the clash with Villarreal on September 22.

BARCELONA'S SUSPENSION LIST

Fermin Lopez

Status: Suspended Possible return date: February 22 (vs. Las Palmas)

Fermin was handed a straight red card shortly after finding the back of the net against Sevilla last weekend, and the midfielder will therefore not be available for selection on Monday night.
