Barcelona injury, suspension list vs. Villarreal

Barcelona will be bidding to make it back-to-back wins in La Liga when they travel to Villarreal on Sunday.

The Catalan giants opened their 2023-24 campaign with a goalless draw against Getafe on August 13 before recording a 2-0 victory over Cadiz last time out.

Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that Pedri had suffered a thigh injury, and the midfielder is expected to be on the sidelines until the early stages of October.


Ronald Araujo

Status: Out Type of injury: Thigh Possible return date: Unknown

Araujo picked up a thigh injury in training last week, and the issue is expected to rule the Uruguay international out of action until the latter stages of next month.


Inigo Martinez

Status: Minor doubt Type of injury: Foot Possible return date: August 27 (vs. Villarreal)

Martinez is back in training, as he steps up his recovery from a foot problem, and there is a chance that the new signing could be in the squad for this contest.
