Barcelona injury news vs. Sevilla - Gavi, Balde, De Jong updates

Barcelona will be bidding to record their fourth straight victory in La Liga when they end their 2023-24 campaign with a clash against Sevilla on Sunday night.

Xavi's side secured second position in the table courtesy of a 3-0 success over Rayo Vallecano last time out, with third-placed Girona now four points behind in third with only one game left.

The Catalan outfit have not conceded since the 4-2 defeat at Girona on May 4 and will now be aiming to end their season on a positive note when they head to Estadio Ramon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Barcelona's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Sevilla, who are 13th in the table heading into the final set of fixtures.

Gavi

Gavi suffered a serious knee injury while representing Spain towards the end of last year, and the highly-rated midfielder is working to be fit for next season.

First-choice left-back Balde underwent a hamstring operation at the end of January, and the Spain international is also undergoing rehabilitation with a view to returning next season.

De Jong suffered another ankle injury during El Clasico with Real Madrid on April 21, and the midfielder will again miss out this weekend. However, he has been named in the provisional Netherlands squad for Euro 2024 and is expected to be fit for the summer tournament.
