Barcelona take a 1-0 lead into half time against Getafe this evening.

Barcelona have taken a 1-0 lead into half time of their match against Getafe this evening.

Barca boss Tito Vilanova opted to leave Lionel Messi out of the starting lineup, but it didn't seem to make too much of a difference early on as the visitors dominated possession.

They almost took the lead after 25 minutes as Thiago weaved his way between several tackles before unleashing a powerful effort that struck Getafe's bar.

Barca did break the deadlock just after the half-hour mark as Cesc Fabregas strode forward before the ball broke to Adriano, who slotted his shot into the bottom corner.

Their lead was almost doubled two minutes later when Thiago chested the ball down before trying to poke it past Moya, but the keeper made a fine save to deny the Barca man.

Getafe responded with a chance of their own with seven minutes left of the half as a free kick was whipped into the six yard box only for Lopo to completely miss his header with the goal at his mercy.
