Scottish League One roundup: Ayr United stay top after thrashing Cowdenbeath

Sports Mole rounds up all of Saturday's action in Scottish League One.

Ayr United remain at the top of the Scottish League One table after thrashing bottom club Cowdenbeath.

The league leaders were heavy favourites going into the match and got off to the perfect start as Jordan Preston netted with just a minute on the clock. Alan Forrest scored before half time, and three further goals in the second half ensured that Ayr would maintain their good form with a 5-0 victory.

Fayssal El-Bakhtaoui scored his eighth goal in nine appearances for Dunfermline, as they kept up the pressure on Ayr with 3-0 win against Albion Rovers.

Forfar Athletic and Peterhead shared the points after Leighton McIntosh's late equaliser took the score to 2-2, and Ryan Thomson scored the only goal of the game as Stranraer beat Airdrieonians.

Finally, Brechin City's 2-2 draw against Stenhousemuir saw the Angus club come off the foot of the table.
