Report: Genoa to move for Cristian Rodriguez

Italian outfit Genoa are reportedly preparing a loan move for Atletico Madrid forward Cristian Rodriguez.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone is a huge admirer of the 28-year-old, who has made 70 appearances for Uruguay during a successful career.

However, the former Porto winger has been unable to hold down a regular spot in the Atletico XI this season, something which will be a concern with the World Cup to come next summer.

According to reports in Spain, Simeone is not prepared to lose Rodriguez on a permanent basis, but will sanction a short-term loan move to the Italian side.

A number of European clubs are believed to be monitoring proceedings.
