Atletico Madrid are reportedly monitoring Mauro Icardi's contract talks with current club Inter Milan.
The 21-year-old joined Inter from Sampdoria in 2013 and has netted an impressive 23 goals in 47 games for the Italian outfit.
According to Tuttosport, Inter want to tie the striker to a new long-term deal, but the two parties are some way apart in terms of negotiations.
As a result, Atletico are believed to be preparing a move for the Argentine international, who has hit 14 goals in 24 games this term.
Icardi was on Barcelona's books between 2008 and 2011.
