Report: Atletico Madrid join Joao Cancelo hunt

Atletico Madrid are reportedly ready to battle Barcelona for the signature of Valencia right-back Joao Cancelo.

The Portuguese international, who joined Valencia from Benfica in 2015 after a loan spell at the Mestalla, is believed to be a transfer target for Barcelona as they prepare to replace Aleix Vidal.

It was reported earlier this month that Barcelona wanted to swap Vidal for Cancelo, but according to the Daily Mail, Atletico are also very much in the hunt for the full-back, who is contracted at the Mestalla until the summer of 2021.

Cancelo, who appeared in all seven of Valencia's La Liga matches at the start of the 2016-17 campaign, has scored three times in three caps for the Portuguese national team.
