Gabi extends Atletico Madrid contract

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi has agreed terms on a contract extension with the La Liga champions, which will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2017.

Gabi, 30, is a product of the Atletico youth system and he said that he is delighted to have committed his foreseeable future to Rojiblancos.

"It's another dream in my life," Sky Sports News quotes Gabi as saying.

"I've been thinking about this renewal because I'm really keen to continue making history and helping the team, and I'm very happy."

Gabi made his debut for the club in 2003.
