Atletico Madrid sign Bernard Mensah, loan him to Getafe

Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of Vitoria Guimaraes midfielder Bernard Mensah.

The 20-year-old, who recently claimed that he had been the subject of interest from Manchester United, has agreed a six-year contract at the Vicente Calderon.

However, he will spend the first of those six years on loan with Atletico's fellow La Liga outfit Getafe.

Last season, the Ghana international made 30 appearances in the Portuguese league, from which he scored five goals.
