Bayern Munich defender Lucas Hernandez is allegedly facing up to a year behind bars for violating a restraining order.
The 25-year-old represented Atletico Madrid for 12 years before making the switch to the Bundesliga, with the incident in question relating to his 2017 arrest on suspicion of assaulting his partner.
Hernandez and his partner were reported to have been given six-month restraining orders preventing contact between one another, but the couple allegedly ignored the order and went on their honeymoon together.
Spanish publication AS now reports that Hernandez will be summoned for the prison selection process by Criminal Court number 32 of Madrid, with a statement reading: "Mr. Lucas Francois Bernard Hernandez is summoned to appear in this Court on October 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in order to be personally required to enter voluntarily within ten days. in the Penitentiary center of your choice."
The publication adds that Hernandez's legal team were unsuccessful with an appeal to suspend or replace the sentence after the Frenchman failed to complete 31 days of community service in 2017.
Bayern Munich supposedly had no knowledge of the summons for Hernandez, who recently became a Nations League winner with France and has made six appearances for the German champions this season.
