Atletico attacking performance leaves manager Diego Simeone frustrated

Atletico attack leaves Simeone frustrated

Diego Simeone has admitted that he was left frustrated by his side's attack as Atletico Madrid failed to take their chances against Astana.

Atletico's Kazakh opponents secured only their second ever Champions League point during the goalless Group C game, and Simeone has voiced his disappointment as Antoine Griezmann, Fernando Torres and Jackson Martinez were all unable to get onto the scoresheet.

"We couldn't score. We created about four or five clear chances but overall, the team played well at the back," the Argentine manager told reporters. "We stopped Astana from creating danger but our attack needs to generate a lot more."

The result leaves Atletico second in Group C, two points behind Benfica following two wins, one draw and one loss, and Simeone says that beating Galatasaray is now a must for his side.

"After losing to Benfica I said that the group would start to get complicated, but we have to beat Galatasaray and see what happens after that," he added.

The La Liga giants take on the Turkish side on November 25.
