The first half of this evening's La Liga clash between Atletico Madrid and Valencia has ended goalless at the Vicente Calderon.

Diego Costa supplied the only real chance of the first 45 minutes by driving his way past three defenders and firing a low cross into the box, but the visitors managed to scramble the ball clear.

Miroslav Djukic's men will be well pleased with their first-half efforts, although the match has not lived up to its billing.

Atleti are looking for a win to go level on points with leaders Barcelona, whereas Los Che will rise to seventh if they can walk away with the points.
