Report: Arda Turan a doubt for Bayer Leverkusen clash

Arda Turan emerges as a reported injury doubt for Atletico Madrid's Champions League last-16 first leg against Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday.

Atletico Madrid could be without key midfielder Arda Turan for Wednesday's Champions League last-16 first leg against Bayer Leverkusen.

The Turkish international reportedly picked up a bruise during a training session on Monday, which has placed his starting role in doubt.

Atletico boss Diego Simeone could also be without Uruguay centre-back Jose Maria Gimenez, who has a fever, but Cristian Ansaldi is available after spending several weeks on the sidelines.

Koke remains on the sidelines for the Spanish champions with a hamstring problem, meaning that Raul Garcia is expected to start in midfield alongside Gabi and Tiago.
