Raul Garcia pleased with Atletico Madrid 'progression'

Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia praises his side following Tuesday's 4-1 win over AC Milan in the Champions League.

Atletico Madrid midfielder Raul Garcia has revealed that he is pleased with his side's 'progression' following Tuesday's 4-1 win over AC Milan in the Champions League.

The Spaniard scored his side's third in the victory in Madrid, which secured their place in the quarter-finals of the European Cup.

"The team is progressing nicely. We are showing hunger to get through the rounds," he told UEFA's official website.

"Our objective has been achieved so let's see what happens next. Knowing that we were facing difficult opponents, we are very happy [to have gone through]. It wasn't easy at all.

"We must remember and be conscious of the fact that we had difficult moments tonight. However, I think our team is mature and we know how to tighten up when these moments arrive. In the end you saw how we managed to win."

Garcia joined Atletico from Osasuna in 2007.
