Gabriel Paletta scored a second-half equaliser as Parma held Atalanta BC to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
It was Parma who started the match the better and Stefano Okaka Chuka came close after just two minutes, but his shot was blocked inside the area.
The away side again went close moments later via an effort from McDonald Mariga, but his header was high of the target.
Atalanta took the lead, however, after five minutes when Thomas Manfredini found the bottom corner following a set piece.
It was Parma who continued to dominate the ball, however, and Sebastian Giovinco came close with a free kick after 22 minutes, before he fired a similar chance over the bar five minutes before the break.
Parma eventually found the equaliser after 55 minutes when Paletta thumped a powerful header into the top corner.
Atalanta missed a golden chance to secure all three points when German Denis found himself unmarked in the area after 67 minutes, but his header missed the target when it looked easier to score.
Both sides played out the remaining moments with relative ease, as they accepted a share of the spoils.
