Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish will reportedly move for Wigan Athletic midfielder Mohamed Diame at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and has found himself out of the club's starting XI in recent weeks.
Chelsea, Arsenal and Newcastle United are also interested, according to the Daily Mail, but Villa are understood to be the favourites.
Diame joined Wigan from Rayo Vallecano in 2009.
