Transfer news and rumours today: Aston Villa eye Samu Aghehowa as possible Ollie Watkins replacement, Nottingham Forest secure Dan Ndoye deal

Villa eye Samu as potential Watkins replacement: Latest transfer news and rumours today

Aston Villa have reportedly been in touch with Porto to register their interest in Samu Aghehowa.

Unai Emery's side could lose Ollie Watkins this summer, with Manchester United believed to be seriously considering making a move for the England international to solve their issues in the final third of the field.

According to the Daily Mail, Villa are currently looking at the striker market, and the club have identified Samu as a possible acquisition during this summer's transfer window.

The report claims that Porto would want at least £55m for the Spain international, which is thought to be around the same valuation that Villa have placed on Watkins amid links with Man United.

Samu had an impressive 2024-25 campaign at Porto after making the move from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2024.

The 21-year-old managed 25 goals and three assists in 42 outings for his Portuguese club last term, including six goals in nine outings in the Europa League, while he struck twice in three appearances at the recent Club World Cup.

Forest 'secure deal' for Bologna forward Ndoye

Meanwhile, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Nottingham Forest are on the verge of announcing the signing of Dan Ndoye from Bologna on a long-term contract.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Switzerland international's future this summer, with a number of clubs, including Man United, said to be keen on his signature.

However, Forest have emerged as the firm favourites of late, and according to Romano, a deal has now been secured.

The Premier League club will allegedly pay €40m (£34.5m) plus €5m (£4.3m) in add-ons, while there will be a 10% sell-on clause to Bologna.

Ndoye, who is said to have agreed a contract until June 2031, will leave Bologna having scored 11 times and registered eight assists in 75 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Last season, the 24-year-old managed nine goals and six assists in 41 appearances for the Italian club, including eight goals and four assists in 30 outings in Serie A.

Fenerbahce 'agree permanent deal' for PSG's Skriniar

Elsewhere, Fenerbahce have reportedly come to an agreement over a permanent deal for Paris Saint-Germain centre-back Milan Skriniar.

The experienced defender spent the second half of the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Fenerbahce, making 23 appearances for the club.

There has been a host of speculation surrounding the Slovakia international's future this summer, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in his signature.

However, according to Romano, a deal to take him back to Fenerbahce, this time on a permanent basis, has now been agreed between all of the parties.

The Turkish giants will allegedly pay an initial fee of €7m (£6m) plus add-ons to PSG, with the overall package potentially reaching €10m (£8.6m).

The 30-year-old will leave Les Parisiens having represented the club on just 37 occasions in all competitions, with the Slovakian largely struggling to show the form that made him one of the best centre-backs in world football during his time at Inter Milan.
