Report: Aston Villa make Morgan Amalfitano approach

Aston Villa have reportedly made contact with Morgan Amalfitano regarding a January move to Villa Park.

The French winger has been without a club since he was released by West Ham United in October following a supposed dispute with manager Slaven Bilic.

Ligue 1 outfit Lille have also made an approach for the 30-year-old, but Remi Garde is keen to take him to Birmingham, according to RMC.

As well as the Hammers, the one-capped France international had another stint in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion during the 2013-14 campaign.
