Joe Cole has reportedly undergone a medical at Aston Villa after holding talks with the club this evening.

The former England midfielder is available on a free transfer after coming to the end of his contract with West Ham United.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the 32-year-old's representatives have been in talks with the club, and the move could be finalised later this week if he passes the medical.

Cole played in 31 games for the Hammers last season, scoring five goals.
