Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke returns to pre-season training, despite submitting a transfer request earlier this month.

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has reported to training at the club's Bodymoor Heath base.

Benteke has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur after he submitted a transfer request last week.

However, despite being allowed to miss the club's pre-season tour of Germany, the 22-year-old has been asked to report for training in the West Midlands.

The Belgian international scored 23 goals in 39 appearances for Villa last season.
