Atletico Madrid plan Christian Benteke bid?

Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke will reportedly become the subject of a transfer bid from Atletico Madrid in January.

Benteke scored 23 goals during his debut campaign in England, but the Belgian international has found the net on just five occasions during this term.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Atletico are ready to make a new offer for the 23-year-old after their advances were turned down in the summer.

It is unclear whether Villa would be interested in cashing in on the former Genk forward, who could miss the Christmas period with a knee injury.
