Tim Sherwood: 'We need to show more quality to back up our heart and desire'

Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood calls on his side to produce more quality on the pitch following their 1-0 defeat away at Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Aston Villa head coach Tim Sherwood has called on his side to show more quality following their 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Sherwood was brought in to replace sacked manager Paul Lambert earlier this month and is now calling on Villa to support their battling qualities with a little more class on the pitch as they look to avoid relegation.

"We have to take something from every game between now and the end of the season," said Sherwood, according to BBC Sport.

"There was a little bit of anxiety, we are trying too hard to hit the front man too early.

"People talk about we have quality, what I saw was heart and desire but I need to see more quality and I think we are capable of it."

The defeat to John Carver's men sees the Villains sitting in 19th spot in the Premier League table.
