Aston Villa lineup vs. Brentford: Predicted XI for Premier League clash

Konsa out, Martinez back for Emery: Predicted Aston Villa lineup vs. Brentford

Aston Villa will have to cope without former Brentford defender Ezri Konsa for Saturday’s Premier League clash with the Bees at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Konsa was shown a straight red card for a last-man foul in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Newcastle United and will now serve a one-match suspension.

However, goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is available to return from a ban of his own after being sent off in the final game of last season, and the experienced Argentine is expected to replace summer signing Marco Bizot, who impressed on his Premier League debut against the Magpies.

Unai Emery is set to be forced to select two left-footed central defenders in the absence of Konsa, with Pau Torres expected to start alongside Tyrone Mings as Matty Cash and Lucas Digne retain their places at full-back.

Boubacar Kamara, Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans are all set to continue in centre-midfield, with John McGinn in contention to start again on the right side of midfield ahead of Donyell Malen.

PFA Young Player of the Year Morgan Rogers is fit and available to start and could operate on the left flank as ex-Bees striker Ollie Watkins, who has scored in both of his last two away matches against his former club, leads the line once again.

Aston Villa possible starting lineup: Martinez; Cash, Torres, Mings, Digne; Kamara, Onana; McGinn, Tielemans, Rogers; Watkins
