Petrov likens Agbonlahor to Ronaldo

Aston Villa captain Stiliyan Petrov believes that Gabriel Agbonlahor has the same abilities as the world's former best player Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 24-year-old scored in Villa's 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic at the weekend, and the forward's captain believes that his performance was worthy of the former Manchester United star.

"People talk about Ronaldo, but when you look at the assets of Gabby, you can put him in the same bracket," the Daily Star quotes Petrov as saying.

"I have always said to him, 'You don't know how good you are and the ability you have'. He can take this Premier League by storm. Not many people have what he's got.

"He has the strength, the speed, he scores goals and he creates them. I'm trying to give him the encouragement."

The Midlands side are currently placed seventh in the Premier League table.
