Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert reveals goalkeeper dilemma

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert admits that he does not know will start in goal for their Premier League opener against Stoke City.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has admitted that he is yet to decide who will start in goal for their Premier League opening match against Stoke City.

United States international Brad Guzan has been Lambert's first-choice goalkeeper for the past two seasons, missing just two league matches in that time.

However, Shay Given is in contention to start after Guzan made two errors in a pre-season friendly against Chesterfield.

"I've got two really top goalkeepers in Shay and Brad," Soccerway quotes Lambert as saying.

"They will push each other and come the Stoke game I will pick the strongest team."

Villa travel to Stoke on August 16.
