Libor Kozak suffers broken leg in training

Aston Villa striker Libor Kozak will miss the remainder of the season after breaking his leg in training.

Aston Villa have confirmed that striker Libor Kozak will miss the remainder of the season after breaking his leg in training.

The former Lazio man was taken to hospital by ambulance after being injured in a challenge with teammate Ciaran Clark at the club's Bodymoor Heath training ground.

"The club can confirm that Libor Kozak suffered a broken leg today in training," read a statement on the official Aston Villa website.

"He will undergo surgery tomorrow and, regretfully, he will play no further part this season."

Czech Republic international Kozak, who joined Villa over the summer in a deal worth £7m, has scored four goals in 14 appearances for the Midlands outfit.
